My Yanks simply could make no progress in this one. On T1, I inched forward, only to have 3 regiments rout from light fire. So, I waited for reinforcements to arrive, then launched a focused attack on my left flank.
Again, my boys took flight. Ken launched a counter-attack that quickly left me with 2 undisputed units. Although my losses are relatively light, I had no troops left to fight with so offered Ken my sword.
Game well played by my opponent. I'm curious how to win this as the Yanks!

Played both sides in this one in this tourney. IMO the yanks don't have a chance unless the rebel player is very inexperienced. The yanks are outgunned, outnumbered, outclassed and the rebs have three exit hexes and three night turns available to them to get enough units off the map to get a major victory. If the yanks attempt to defend all three crossings the reb concentrates on two of them and wrecks that part of his force. If the yank defends only two of them the reb uses the third one to get the major victory. |

My opponent made some early mistakes allowing me to capture a battery and eliminate a regiment and allowing my rebs to quickly gain a major victory level. As the scenario seems to favor the rebs he surrendered rather than continue.
