I attacked Oak Hill with two Iverson and O'Neal, while hitting the Federal center right with Doles. The Hill was taken and defensive positions there were set up, with the artillery emplaced to enfilate the Union center and right. Gary withdrew his artillery from the center and right and I continued the attacks on that flank, which held. Gary counterattacked my right with an echelon attack to the left which unfortunately left his whole line subject to flanking fire from my hilltop positions and it melted away the next turn. I went on the defensive on the heights and transferred O'Neal to the center to connect with Doles and continue the attack. Aided by the enfilade artillery fire from the heights Doles was able to break through and capture both Union batteries. I was then able to consolidate my disjointed line and hold on for the major victory.
