Alex tricked me! I thought he was a rookie; he's not! My calvary foolishly charged forward the first few turns only to have the Rebs surround and destroy a regiment plus capture one of my artillery batteries. From there, the fight was desperate but futile.

I tried to feint towards the south-west objective while moving around the north-east side of the map towards the northern objective. Alas, my troops were too exhausted by my folly during the early turns and Alex is way too experienced to make the kind of major mistake I needed to save the day.

But turn 10, my boys were within two hexes of the northern victory location but it may as well been 100 hexes. I started conducting a tactical advance to the rear. Oh ... and Alex almost snuck a unit down to the one victory hex I did control (in the south-east). By luck, I had a unit that had just recovered from routing in the area to stop him! Nice game, Alex. I was sorely out-generaled!

I enjoyed this scenario. It's small but that means there is little room for error while the turns play quickly. Fun little battle.
