Pokemon Black/White
I am honestly not a big Pokemon fanboy like I was with Red/Blue/Yellow back in like 3rd and 4th grade but I was at Gamestop the other day and I was just there for nothing really but loitering around the mall, but I see Pokemon Black/White taking up an ENTIRE shelf at Gamestop, and it honestly made me think of my childhood, playing Pokemon Red for the original Gameboy and it made me all emotional since those days are gone and all... but anyways... I saw this new part of the series on the shelf and I figured, why not get it, it's 40 dollars, I already have a DS that I haven't touched in 3 years, let it come to use...
Well I bought it (Pokemon: Black), came home, dusted off my very, very, very dusty old school silver DS, I could have probably peeled layers of dust off of it, then I put Pokemon Black in and am just shocked when I fire it up, I mean it looked like pretty damn nice graphics for the DS, I was thinking to myself, wow, Gamefreak really outdid themselves.
So I race through the tutorial and what not, you know how they don't shutup, like Pokemon Black is the first Pokemon game you have ever played, I name myself Focker, name my starter Pokemon Ghandi (real name is Snivy), and I am just psyched for this game, I am jumping up and down, chanting battle theme songs from random games and movies and crying at the same time because I am so excited, but that all came to an end when I entered my first battle, which is with one of your two rivals. Now I will be the first to tell you that graphics don't make a game, but also, graphics can turn you away from a game if they LITERALLY make you sick to your stomach... I mean when I entered the battle, I was firstly, disappointed in the fact that the Pokemon that you are battling with is all blocky and pixelated, but, I was willing to let that slide... But when the battle scene started twisting and turning and zooming in and then quickly zooming out and pausing after you chose an attack, I mean come on... I really, really, really, wanted to throw up, and I will stop there because that is as far as I got, when I work up the spirits and pride to turn on that game again and get further, I will try to say more...
Soooo this was two weeks ago, I have not turned on that god forbidden game since... So that is my experience, not so much a review, of Pokemon: Black... My conclusion is that if you are an old school Pokemon fan and haven't played much since, you do not need to go rushing to get this game. Good luck.
