Are there any resources that would give tips on how to play historically? By that I mean the proper times for being in column/line, what formation for melee etc rather than do I go left or right at the road junction.
I have a WWII and beyond mentality, and I suspect I'm not using my units correctly.
1. Even if you could make something idiot proof they would just go out and build a better idiot.
2. The road to hell is paved by a hard working asphalt crew of meddlesome legislators...
3. Donkey poop and elephant poop don't smell too much different from one another. It's all poop....
Melee in line, unless crossing a bridge, or defile. Try to be in line whenever you're in musket/rifle range. Column is for moving. Line is for fighting. That should get you started.
