    Whither Ole Boe?

[Since I couldn't read my first post, perhaps you could not either]

Ole's IIFT (Mini) Quick Reference Data Card is the most useful ASL item I possess. I give them away to ASLers all the time. As my supply is nearly exhausted I went to download the latest version (v3.6?) of the IIFT(M)QRDC but could not find Ole's site. Then I searched here and on Consimworld for a recent post from Ole but came up dry. Any idea where the master is kept? I found a copy of the IIFT(M)QDRCc but not the black and white version.

Ole's web site has been gone for quite some time, but you can access archived versions of it using the Internet Archive's WayBack Machine. Go to:

    http://www.archive.org/index.php

    and search for:

    http://home.no.net/oboe/

in the WayBack Machine. His PDF files are included in the archive (or, at least, the one I downloaded as a test was).

The Texas ASL Club also has some of his files in their extensive Download section, but I suspect that these were just reposted from Ole's web site. Ole himself seems to have gone MIA... he apparently hasn't posted on CSW in over two years.

He left here about the same time, fed up with thebickering. I believe he's still playing though. Maybe one of his countrymen could help.
What do we want? Time travel! When do we want it? It's irrelevant!

Maybe NEXT time you'll be more 'appreciative' to Ole's work.

He was driven out of here by one person's bullying. That person laughed and said Ole would be back in a week. But to our loss he has not returned.

I was sorry to see Ole go. He was a gentleman and very helpful with the rules queries. Nice guy.
I'd rather eat my copy of Onslaught to Orsha than purchase another CH! product.

    Complete and total horse pucky!!!

Following is the post where Ole signed-off:

It was the result of a firece CH flame war thread. There were are whole bunch of folks involved on both sides. The only people named specifically by Ole were Glennbo and Scott.

Frankly, it looks to me like Ole blamed everybody up to and including the mod's.

So any attempt to to try and blame anyone person for Ole's departure is a complete and total falsehood.

[EXC: Blaming Glennbo for anything one wants is ALWAYS acceptable.]

    Re: Whither Ole Boe?

    Hi-

Actually, I never did care for his rules changes he had MMP do, like the human wave rules were just fine, or the Platoon movement rules were not broken, you just had to deal with wonky circumstances such as warping tanks getting out of a guns LOS if they started up in platoon movement. and what the heck is the Crab Walk he cried about alot? And the icing on the cake was the Def fire changes to the Gun rules. Hopefully he is not of the hobby, but I could care less., unfortunantly, I think he brought about alot of bad changes to the ASL rules.

And probably will continue such bad rule changes with his buddy Pat Manaleg.

    Gentlemen,

I think pretty much uncalled for..... and unnecessary.

    Best regards,
    John
