Berserk Units: A couple of questions

    [A15.431] BERSERK UNIT MF

    1. Re "The charging unit must take the shortest route (in MF) to the enemy unit..."

Does this mean that, due to the MF cost imparted for this action, a berserk unit may never employ smoke grenades?

    2. Same section, same rules reference:

Situation: MPh start. A berserk unit begins its charge towards the nearest KEU, which occupies a rubble hex 10 MF away (using the shortest route). The hex adjacent to the KEU, which the berserk unit must enter, is a shellhole hex. The berserk unit must expend a total of 7 MF's to enter this hex (that is, the open ground portion of it). Since it cannot enter the enemy unit's hex, and yet has 1 MF remaining, may it occupy the shellhole location as it enters the hex?

    They can't use smoke grenades...

They can't enter shellholes. You have to take the shortest route in MF. (But remember that the berserker is in the shell holes after the movement phase ends...)

But cheer up, you have a morale of 10.
    What could go wrong?

Copy that, Sam. I'm not familiar with the part allowing the occupation of the shellholes after the Mph; I'll have to look that one up....

    Thanks!

Does a berserk Unit have to charge a unit beyond 10 Movement Points? For example I had a leader go berserk, and the only KEU was 12 hexes away on the 3rd Floor. Also does shortest route mean I have to use Bypass movement?

    B2.4:
"...If it expends two MF in entering the hex, or starts the phase therein, it is considered in a shellhole and not subject to FFMO penalties..."

Thumbs up Re: Berserk Units: A couple of questions

Because I'm fan of poetry. I'm used to say: "Berserker have their brain falling down in their testicles!"
So, they don't thinking, but obviously don't feeling (or far lesser than other guys) fear and pain!

Yes. A15.431. "...the shortest route (in MF) to the enemy unit, including the use of Bypass..."

It's not really more poetic in french: "Les berserks ont le cerveau qui descend dans les couilles"
    It's probably even more rude!

    Guillaume, so gentle!
