This could cayuse a shake in the economy with ripple effects throughout Europe. Combine this with the UK election and we could see another economic crisis.

Tragic news. I'm half Polish, but never really followed news from Poland all that much (was born in the U.S. and so was my dad who is 100%) - meaning that I'm pretty far removed. Still, the Poles are my people (well, at least halfway!)

Thank you, Morbii, I just cannot believe how this happened - Tu-154 was so old machine that it was told from 2004 to replace them. And who lets so many important people fly in a one plane...
Once again we've lost creme de la creme of politics and public life. And a head of the country... This Smolensk is a place of bad luck...
I really hope that governement will quickly overcome this situation, because without general staff, chief of national bank we're in really big trouble.

For what is known, in Smolensk there was a fog, and landing field hadn't any landing guidance devices. So another cause, presumably. It's unconfirmed but presumably pilot took 4 ladning attempts before he crashed.
