Laminating maps....

I've done copies of my historical maps on sheets of A3 paper...
They're now cut so that they slot together perfectly.
I just now need to laminate the maps
Is there any tips out there...or dangers to watch out for??
I'm using A3 laminating pouches and a laminating machine
Soft laminate? Or hard laminate???
Any suggestions at all gratefully appreciated

Matt finish if you can get them in A3. The lack of glare is worth it. All my half geo maps are done like that and the few HASL maps also. Costs more but worth it in my opinion.

For small maps I'd go for a heavier weight. Less so for the larger.

If laminate glare can't be avoided, you can always spray them with flat clear acrylic as I've done.
