After trying Empire Earth III, and being surprised at the design changes, I went back and tried Empire Earth (I), and was rudely reminded of why it annoyed me so much. More recently, I took a look at Win7's compatibility mode functionality (I like the UI improvements to it), and went through the first two battles of the main campaign in People's General.
And there's the minimal time I spend in WoW.
And I'm deep in my second game of Neptune's Pride. Currently in the lead, but any number of things could upset that. If orange gets serious about me, it will be trouble. If dark blue decides to break our peace treaty, it will be trouble. If green stops uselessly throwing fleets at me... he'll live longer.

Neptune's Pride finished yesterday. Got attacked by dark blue, and surrendered.Got a decent deal and was able to hang on to second while he took first. Of course, I gave him a really sweet deal when I won the first war with him. Wanted him as a counterbalance to things further away from me. Didn't expect all his other neighbors to collapse, and he staged a really good comeback. Could have actually done better on the second war, but the border with orange (the only other major power left) was collapsing due to a lack of resources.
So, now I'm wondering when/how I want to go into a third game.
Other than that, I'm mostly just playing 'spot the typo' in my PHP coding on the computer....
Its a very weird game but for some reason I have been playing it for the past 7 years on and off. Mostly off.
Well of Souls

Well, I'm bored out of my mother#$^@!^ mind.
So...what is everyone playing that is keeping them busy? Anything I might have missed? Some golden oldies?
How I can't wait for Deus Ex to get here....![]()

Not too hard to guess:

How to play Dog Green as Axis. 1) Get all the MG's on the wall, 2) have riflemen run constant relays to resupply them. The allies breached the wall with 2 minutes left. 3) I only got 4-6 kills the entire round!

Good Tunes
This looks like the old Day of Defeat when it was still tactical and not such a slugfest like DoD Source. I still remember that it was pretty dangerous landing on Omaha beach since the spawns were tightly grouped by the landing craft with the Axis MGs were horribly effective. But that apparently was pretty imbalanced so the MG42 had its ROF reduced, the Allied spawns were spaced out behind the obstacles and Snipers were now allowed for the Allies. In the end the Germans had to defend behind the beach line because as soon as a German helmet dared to poke out of any bunker it already took a bullet in the head. This kinda sucked out the fun of the game since it is just wrong. I mean it was fun playing axis but it was also fun as alliessince it was actually a big achievement to cross the beach and win the map. Even if you couldnt rack up postive stats.
Anyway im currently replaying Nexus: The Jupiter Incident which is probably the last of the big, commercial Space Sims and the only real tactical Taskforce Simulator. Still looks better than most Spacesims despite its age.
Anyway two shots, the first a flyby by the Destroyer Brutus with the Battleships Balthasar and Adamant in the Background. The other a really far out zoomed shot of my Taskforce firing at a Fortshield with Energy bombs.
I've heard so many good things about Nexus, and those screenshots seem to confirm that what I heard is true. I never got to try the game and now I feel it is just too old to be worth the effort.
Who made Nexus again?
