snow leopard?

Any of you all having any problem with VASL and Mac OS 10.6?

Ever since I upgraded the OS, I'm getting a "failed to validate certificate" message, and it won't let VASL launch.

Typically when this happens you delete the temporary files, which I think I've done, but that operation doesn't seem to be quite the same with OS 10.6 as it was before (and it still isn't working).

Any help appreciated (and I sent a note to vasl help as well).

No problems noted and no changes required. I start VASL via a script ("runvasl") which contains:

cd /Users/lars/vasl5run/VASL-5.8
sh ./VASL.sh

VASL.sh is the standard one IIRC.

Don't think it's gor something to do with MacOS (isnt is the PERFECT OS? )

The certificate error results from a java error ... so download the latest version.

I have no idea how to run a script (and being a Mac-user, I don't feel like I should be required to :-)

And Mac OS won't let you just download Java (according to the Java site). It says you have to run the OS software update, which I've done. And it says all is up-to-date.

So I'm at a loss. I haven't tried doing a local install (or whatever that's called ) with VASL; I guess that's next.

I can't believe I'm the only person having this Snow Leopard problem though.

By the way, with this new OS, I have no "java" in my Java folder. There's only a Java Preferences application. Could that be right?

No problem with Snow Leopard. Do the following

Download the standalone VASL : http://vasl.org/VASL.zip

Unzip it. In the resulting folder, you have a VASL.sh shellscript.
right-click and choose Open with and select Other...
In the open file dialog, choose « All Applications » in the « Enable » local menu and check « Always Open With ». Go to Applications/Utilities, then choose Terminal in the list of applications.

Now, you may double-click VASL.sh to launch VASL

well, couldn't you assign an icon to VASL.sh, & click on that?

I am packaging the VASL application in a bundle (the Mac OS X way). I hope to have it working soon. I will submit it to Rodney Kinney
