    Sharing Dice with your Opponent

I have run into this at tournaments a few times. Opponents who insist that we both use the same dice. I don't know whether they are concerned about loaded dice or what. But I carry a little tin of dice, I have a personal relationship with each and every one of them, they will just as easily burn me as save my a$$. After consitantly rolling 9s for awile I might change to another set looking for the love. I just hate the idea of a set of my dice, which I have nurtured through good times and bad, beating me. They would probobly have to be taken right out and executed. Your thoughts.

    Meh.
If that's how my opponent wants to play, that's fine.
As long as they don't ask to make my DR's for me,
    it's all good.

In previous discussions of this topic it quickly became clear that ASL players, already anal to a point bordering psychosis, are even more anal about their dice. Most players insist on not sharing their dice. They will even permit their opponent to choose the dice from their set that they will have to use rather than share dice during a game.

I don't care myself. I'll share dice if my opponent insists. But it does slow down the game when you have to keep passing them back and forth, and that can be annoying.

    It's unsanitary.

Doesn't bother me one way or another, With my regular ftf budies we use the same dice to avoid clutter but it really makes no difference although I find it funny when someone is strong on that point.

I have to agree. Is this game REALLY so important that we are worried about whether our opponent may have loaded dice?? It's just a game. A very fun game, but a game nonetheless. Just have fun!

I don't like to share my dice at all, they can pick from my tray of unused dice but when I select a pair for playing I don't want no one else's mo-jo on my dice.

I squeeze em and hug em during play hoping my mental mo-jo will rub off on them. Even against my son I insist he selects some other dice.

Sure it's unsanitary... have you heard of the famous outbreak of "dice flu" in 1920???? Well have ya??

It doesn't bother me at all, but if you ever play Robert "Wolkester" Wolkey - make sure you touch and use all of his dice.

    For luck.

And it will drive him buggy.

Dick Mitchell brings lots of dice and we use varying colors depending on the roll being made - and I think, sometimes, on our mood.

In general I will use another person's dice especially if I know it bugs them. It's called metagaming, and that's still gaming in my book.

I'd rather Share underwear than dice...especially if Psycho would actually wear underwear.

If an opponent was insisting and I could tell that it was in an attempt to bug me, I would hunker down and tell him if he doesn't have all the materials he needs to play the game, then he must forfeit.
