    I read TODAY IN HISTORY for my World History students...and whose birthday is listed by the NYTIMES website?

    Sure, I'll chime in. Happy Birthday to one of the fathers of the game - for surely, that's what he is. And if he's headed for greener pastures now - more power to him. Best of success in the new ventures - thanks for being there for the game when you were needed. You're not forgotten.

    Oh, them other fellers - Hill and Greenwood and such - that makes 'em the grandfathers of the game.
