"I have always known about man. From the evidence, I believe his wisdom must walk hand and hand with his idiocy. His emotions must rule his brain. He must be a warlike creature who gives battle to everything around him, even himself." - Dr. Zaius
Some more info on the game...and I like what I see so far...I played the first one to a degree but sucked donkey balls at itand now Russians and Americans working together! Pure awesomeness!!!
An IGN article:
Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragoon Rising
The setting:
And I hope that the pathfinding lives up to this quote as no matter how much data is put in. Nobody wants to give a flank order to a platoon of Abrams and watch them "maneuver" into position by traversing open ground in full view of the bad guys. The hot Cold War is done and China has risen to power in a big way. But in this alternate universe, the power was enough to challenge Russia for a very valuable island in the China Sea named Sakhalin.
Lets hope this goes well!!Players won't find any scripted AI events in the game. Instead they'll find an AI that adjusts itself on the fly according to the massive amount of military data gathered by the team. This includes everything from the weapons being used, movements being made, weather happening, strength of troops, terrain advantages and so on. What this should do is create battles that begin and end at least a little bit differently every time they're played. It should also keep players on their toes and heads on a swivel. The enemy that attacked from the front the first time through the level may flank you through the forest in the second.![]()

China and Russia sign border deal

According to Chinese reports, Russia will return all of Yinlong island (known in Russian as Tarabarov) and half of Heixiazi island (Bolshoi Ussuriyasky) to China.

Sometime in 2009.
Burke's Joystick: Because Edmund Burke would have been a gamer!
Codemaster? I'm not too thrilled with this company. However, I hope either OFP2 or Armed Assault 2 (from by Bohemia interactive, the producers of OFP) will be a realistic, modern-day FPS.
