    G33 The Awakening of Spring

    Hi,
I was looking at this one for a possible game and noted in the description that it involved elements of the 6th SS Panzer Division. I can find no information on that unit. Since it is part of 6th SS Panzer Army in the scenario, I guess it is 1st SS Panzer. Can anyone elaborate? Is it a fun scenario?

I can't answer the question about which unit it was. But, I played this scenario last year as the Russians. You want to be extremely careful about where you place those two ATG's & when to first fire them; they're probably the two most important pieces in this scenario. I won it, but mainly because my opponent got unlucky and malfed so many of his tanks. It was partially his fault thought, since he likes IF so much, so I felt he deserved to lose that way.

It's a good sceanrio, worth playing. I won't say it's the best, nor the worst .. but it's a good scenario. Take a look at the kill table for the Russian 100L guns, they're actually better than the 122L !

That is pretty gutsy to IF with circled breakdown numbers! Yes, the guns do look interesting. I will need a new German sniper counter though.

A great scenario and very balanced too. It has a lot of re-play value because of the dual German victory possibilites and the options available to the Russian defenders, like pulling their infantry back to stop the Germans gaining CVP or where to put the Guns (even have them pointing to the rear!).

It's just a game, but it's expressive of warfare.

I remember this as a very fun scenario, but cannot recall - was this a Bill Sisler or a Pete Mudge design?

    6. SS Panzerarmee consists of the 1. SS-Panzerdivision "LSAH", 2. SS-Panzerdivision "Das Reich", 9. SS-Panzerdivision "Hohenstaufen" and the 12. SS-Panzerdivision "Hitlerjugend".
