I am new to the forum, but not to wargames.
I am also new to Cyberboard and Vassal. Love both, both have great things to offer.
I was wondering if anyone plays WIF on Cyberboard? I think this gives new potential to the entire hobby and games like WIF and other "Monster" games can actually be played. Games can be set up and played over the days or weeks they really need to play well with no concern that the wife, cat, dog or kids will move counters or knock over the board.
Thoughts?
Just asking to see if you were aware of the Matrix Games project to bring a computer version of World in Flames to the wargaming market.

I am only vaguely familiar with the WiF rules so this may sound dumb, but wouldn't it be a bear to Pbem WiF (cyberboard)? I suppose it could be done but it must be a monster. Does it work ok if you have more than 2 players playing?

No I was not aware they were going to computerise the game. That could be great, but like so many games they may tend to simplify the game into a Command and Conquer style game and that would suck.
I think you can set up the game with multiple players to each side, but I need to look into this more, like I said I am new to Cyberboard / vassal. I thought I saw somewhere that you could assign multiple players to a side.

I don't think you need to worry about them dumbing down WiF at all. Take a look at the forum over there (Matrix). In fact, though my knowledge is fleeting at best of the board game, I think Matrix and the particular developer who has picked up the baton for this game, are putting in alot of really hard work to faithfully reproduce this game to appease the hardcore WiF crowd yet make it accessible to the novice with tutorials and whatnot. Upside is you can play WiF on VASSAL.
Downside is I just heard mention that the computer version is not expected to appear soon. They mention after Xmas 2008.
In gamer terms, that's like forever to most hehe.

I played against a guy in Melbourne and we got through 2 years of gametime in 2 months so it moves pretty quickly (much quicker than email).
