What happened to all the debates on ASL? This BB was quite active there for a while, now it seems like it died. I hope it's not going away as the ASLML already died. All it was good for was flame wars anyway.
What happened to the jump forum menu at the bottom?
The ASLML has been reborn, and there is a level of moderation on it as well.

It's far from dead, although I don't fully understand the peaks in activity myself. I personally hate the ASLML. It's not the ASLML itself, it's just that I dislike mailing lists in general. They are an old and archaic leftover from the DOS days. Mailing lists are about as primitive as you can get. No membership filters, no options, no way to search posts or threads, etc, etc, etc. All you are left with is a giant pile of posts that require you to read every one to find something useful. Modern forum software is a 1,000% improvement. There are a ton of options (including a subscription option just like a mailing list) and the subjects are grouped into threads for easy viewing and searching.Originally Posted by rw527

A while back there seemed to be some performance issues with the forum so we turned that feature off to save bandwidth. It turns out that there was nothing wrong with the forum after all. The problems seemed to be a general internet/server issue if anything. We may turn it back on at some point.What happened to the jump forum menu at the bottom?
