    Exclamation TF Gebhard Breaching Exercise

    Okay campers! Here it is.

I added enough combat power to allow you to make 2 - 3 breaches which IIRC is doctrinally correct for a BN/TF.

Since there is more than one way to tackle this problem, I included more engineering assets than I think you will need. Take what you want.

    The zip package includes:

    • the "TFGebhard_Breach.tac" file
    • The exported blue OOB
    • A FRAGO that summarizes the changes in the mission and
    • A warning about a problem I encountered during testing

    Notes:
    • Options 4, 5, and 6 are checked
    • You will have to enable Umpire Tools in order to import the blue OOB.
    • One bug - the AI initially began a maniacal smoke barrage about 07 Easting so I deleted the OPFORs smoke ammo for tube artillery. Since you have so many thermals OPFOR not having smoke should not matter too much.

Let me know if anything wierd happens. I'll be doing a PBEM while you are fighting this one. Have Fun!

DL'd it, read the OpOrd (nice job) haven't had a chance to run through it yet. I'll blame it on the holidays. How about one more week to discuss?

Fine with me. I was just afraid I'd made it too hard and alienated everyone.
Take your time and enjoy. This is a hobby. If you were supposed to suffer through it this would be called work!

Exclamation Not to put anyone off but

On a related topic, they are discussing obstacle breaching in Desert Storm over in the Combat University forum.

    My New Home

I am just about settled from the move to Leavenworth. I don't have an internet connection at home. (I am using a public terminal right now). I think I can run the scenario this week.

    More Than I Bargined For

I finially got around to starting this battle. I loaded it up and it quickly became appearant how little I know about combat engineering in TacOps. Thank goodness for the Major including the Gazzette and manual in PDF format for searching!! I think I am going to need to take this battle slow (in terms of meatspace realtime) and do lots of smoke, arty fire, scouting/probing, etc. if I am going to do anything more than roll a snowball into an oven.
