FB CGI (and II) Setup Question

In Festung Budapest, CG I (and II since the setup instructions are the same) the Initial Vannay Coy is given the setup instructions "on or east of hexrow A35-J39", North is the "A" row, and East is lower numbers.

I'm preparing to play as the Russians, so I'd like to know where the opposition might be, but I don't want to take this too seriously. Does that particular company have to setup in any lesser numbered hex, but still in A-J hexrows? Or does the "east of" also permit south of the named hexes? (Basically anywhere on the rest of the map not near the Russian Entry area).

I would not read this as requiring being in rows A-J. I would say that it is common practice to say it that way in setup instructions while meaning "the entire map except...", and if the intention was to restrict setup to particular hexrows, the setup instructions would say that explicitly.
