Dos Equis Team Tournament is ON....

    All,

Day Two fo the Austin Team Tournament is about finished (Day One for me; work and all).

Over 50 participants playing many different scenarios.

One thing that is speacial about this tournament, is the "Dos Eqis" scenario pack. It is limited to only those in attendance and it has plenty of different theaters of action....

Met Gary Fortenberry, Pete Shelling and Dan Best; as well as many players from Texas.

Very glad to attend this event as well as share a DVD with all attendees with the US Army Green Book series (and other stuff as well). Plenty of nice things to read about on that DVD.

I'll be back, bring and early on Saturday morning; the pics I took are too large (3.1Mbs in size) to be placed here.

Arrived early at the Game Room; which was locked.....

Met many of the players from Kansas waiting outside and they were worried about....

    1. The room would be empty and all we would hear would be "crickets"....

    2. The cleaning crew cleared out the game room.

    3. All the "ASL confetti" (counters) was placed in a plastic bag for the celebration downstairs........

    4. The "recycle bins" would be the "dumpster dive" event of the day, to recover all the missing game stuff.

Yeah, we were bored and now that the door is open, the gaming has begun......

Day Three is now over for the Austin Team Tournament.

It was a very "action-filled" day for all.

Many players enjoyed the "Lottery" at 3:30PM.

I played Bruce Earls in a playtest of a Pete Shelling design.

It centered around two objectives, based upon a book Pete read. Jan 1943 near the Leningrad area.

I played the Germans, and lost this game, based upon very bad dice rolls by me; my favorite number is between 8 and 11..... Or so I thought throughout most of the scenario.

Bruce got on a good DR string with a Russian 50mm Mtr...... Maybe 12 Rates, but only able to Cas Reduce one MMC to a Broke HS.

All in all, it was an exciting event.

There was a Scenario pack with 10 scenarios that was given out to all attendees at this tournament.

The TD stated, "I will placed what is left of the scenario packs up for sale on the BFP and Central Texas ASL Yahoo group web sites.

Not sure what he is going to sell them for, but many players enjoyed the scenarios that were in the packs. "Tough Enough" was a very exciting scenario, "Tom Gillis, Houston ASL Group".

Love the "confetti" fears. Very funny. LOL

...normally I hate LOL...but given that I did laugh out load, it is appropriate.

    Thanks for the report, Kevin

Hopefully those of us who weren't there can catch the listing on the BFP site (I'm not a member of the Yahoo group) before they're sold out. Otherwise I expect it's off to the ebay games.

    Kevin:

If we register for the tournament, can we get the scenario pack mailed? I would be happy to do so even though I can't attend to support the club.

    Please contact the TD at:

    CTASL at aol dot com

Rick should be able to send it to you for a fair price.
