I'd had two squad adjacent to his tanks and not tried for them either. Went for the advance in concealed for the CCV option and of ourselves miffed the rolls.

I think you only retain concealment if:
It is an advance into non-open ground (in this case orchard)
Younger ambush (quite likely given the mods of -2 for you and +2 for him)
You achieve a kill...that's the tricky one.

No you also retain ? if you FAIL the PAATC. Read Case C of the ? Loss / Gain chart carefully !

Yes, i'm aware of that but if you pass it and advance in then you will lose concealment if you fail to kill the target in CC.
