    Cellars entry Los and encirclement.

I have problems. Ian also having a hard time getting my head around cellars.

Can you enter a cellar from the non cellar location of an adjacent hex? Eg in the advance phase? Canyou lay a dc in a cellar from there?

Units in a cellar are treated as entrenched at ground level. Los exists from the cellar out along ground level until it encounters an obstacle ie the plateau effect does not operate.

I'm in a cellar with an enemy unit adjacent at ground level and in the adjacent cellar. Does "upper level encirclement" apply. Wod it matter if the cellar is fortified?
    Thanks.

A Cellar (at least a FB Cellar, and I assume the rules in the other HASLs with Cellar rules work the same) is a separate Location - so you cannot move-directly/advance into the Cellar from a
non-adjacent Cellar Location - with the exception is using a Trench that "connect" to the Cellar Location.

    FB9.2:
"...Infantry may enter/exit the FB Cellar level only via a Stairwell, Manhole, or a “connecting” Trench (SSR FB14)..."

To place a DC vs a Cellar Location I believe you need to be ADJACENT to it.

    FB9.7:
"9.7 ENCIRCLEMENT: The principles of A7.72 (Upper Level Encirclement) do not apply to FB Cellar Locations; i.e., a unit in a FB Cellar is not Encircled merely by having no exit to ground level."

Thanks Klas... you're allways there when needed!

I'm assuming that the rules from FB are pretty much the same as other HASLs but best to check in there too.

One aspect that spring tro mind now is can you snap shot as a unit enters the ground floor of the locatiuon? I assume the within hex limit applies. In fact I'm preety sure it does.
