I could almost agree, at least to a degree, if it weren't for liberals like yourself attempting to impose your confiscatory, nanny state socialism on the rest of us. I see no difference between the yoke of the religious right as compared to that of the socialist. You all want to run our lives, the only difference is the motivation.
I prefer to limit the power of all busybodies to run my life.

I must be in denial. Been a catholic all my life and never come across an abusing priest or cruel nun. Seen plenty of bigotry from both sides (including a flat mate who hike drunk said to our downstairs neighbour, "you're alright, but see him, he's a catholic bastard!" )
Maybe I am just too ugly to attract attention even though I was an altarboy for years.
What do we want? Time travel! When do we want it? It's irrelevant!
Practice safe eating...always use a condiment!
I don't think you can sell yourself as moderate here Don. Pull the other one.
Socialism is something you can argue about and vote for or against, as you see fit...
Assuming that you can get past the fact that socialism is ingrained in the US, but people there are happy to pretend it is an alien concept. Socialised school system, banks (did someone forget them already) and sports stadia without needing to go further.
Religious people seeking claim to have a god given mandate. They claim a higher power than their fellow countrymen and are prepared to threaten something which the politically minded in the US are often given to cite: the constitution. Separation of church and state is on my mind here. How many of the Republican presidential candidates said god had told them to run? That is dangerous.
I can vote for local council, but I can't vote out the ministers of religion who get to sit on panels running things.
