This game already has two strikes against it: Ubisoft, and a third person perspective. But given it is F2P, the Ubisoft angle doesn't bother me that much since I don't have to give them my money unless I want to. And the combat looks really interesting:
I am curious to see how this turns out. Regardless, I have to say that I am really enjoying these cyberpunk/near future warfare games. So much more interesting than yet another WWII setting or some sort of generic modern setting.

It seems this game was slated to go into beta by last summer, but only made it this March. I wonder what sort of development problems they encountered.

I have to say that one of the reasons why I am really enjoying Blacklight is because the game is very generous when it comes to handing out money. Really, the only reason I would buy something in Blacklight with real money is out of convenience and not necessity.GRO is the evolution of free-to-play. Players can use real world cash to accelerate unlocks, but will always be restricted by their experience level, which can only be gained by playing online. Theo explains his influences: “I feel respected by the developer when I play League of Legends. I don’t feel like there’s a thousand tricks trying to con me out of my money.”

Can't wait! I think GRO is going to be quite popular, especially seeing how it offers an alternative to the screwed up console port that Ubi released for Future Soldier.

I am so sick of this DRM nonsense. It is often the case of the "cure" being worse than the disease. Fortunately, with the possible exception of GRO, I am not a fan of Ubisoft games (the last two I purchased was Chessmaster GM and Silent Hunter Pacific, which was years before Ubi went totally off the DRM deep end). Their current line-up, with the possible exception of 2013's Watch_Dogs, just doesn't interest me at all. Well, Ghost Recon Future Soldier did...until it became apparent that it was an awful console port.
