Hi ya-
I think if MMP had put the SS in black in FB, it would be a runaway hit.

FB is a runaway hit. It sold over 1,000 preorder copies.

Me I want to play both!!! I think FB offers enough different things to it that it makes me want to play it ahead of yet another Stalingrad package. I also wonder if your involvment in the CGII is broken debate could have coloured your view of this ( and that debate seems rather two early given most of the discussion is by guys yet to play it and even get it at the point of discusion)
That's the thing about ASL though, soooooooooooooooooooooo much different gear we can just be very picky, not a bad place to be

To be honest Ian, that discussion made me MORE interested in FB. The bottom line with FB as far as I'm concerned is that it is not mean and nasty enough for me to want to play it. It seems like rather a refined module, instead of a blood and guts module. I like refined ASL which requires intelligent play but I prefer the really meaty modules more.
It's just a game, but it's expressive of warfare.
Each to their own, and all that, but to regard a months long Ostfront siege in the middle of Winter between the Germans, Soviets and Hungarians circa 1945 as "refined" seems odd to me. This was a vicious, bitter siege in which the losing side was almost wiped out, having been surrounded for months.
There were SS there and Soviets, Hungarians fighting Hungarians, starving civilians (and soldiers), desperate resupply by glider.... "Refined"?

I have to confess to not having looked at the scenarios over close so far, been to busy in the day and to tired at night, need to have a good luck at it soon. I would be surprised if it's that refined given it was a fight to the death with a nice mix of racial harted thrown in for good measure. I think until you dive in you can't really know how it will play out, this makes the AAR's invaluable as long as the writer has grasped the intent correctly.
I hope it turns out to be one of your fav's though!!!
