    Wasteland 2

Wasteland 2 launched on kickstarter. Already over $300,000 raised.

I suggest everyone who can afford it should back this game.

A new age is approaching. Long live the tactical party based rpg!

I hate to admit it, but I don't recall the original game. I wonder how it got past me. Rindis? Any comment?

This video is hilarious and pretty much sums up my opinion of the modern gaming industry too:

If you like the idea of Wasteland 2 (which I am definitely getting excited about ), you might want to check out NEO Scavenger:

I tried to demo and I really like the direction the gaming is going in. Sort of like a turn-based Stalker with perm-death. That is how I was hoping A Valley Without Wind was going to turn out before it went all side scroller and magic crazy.

What were you doing in 1988?

I'll admit I don't know the game either. But I've never been as much into the RPG side of things. In 1988 I was still discovering SSG, and was about to discover Sid Meier.

I've played only a couple of the turn-based party-centric RPGs of the era. Notably Pool of Radiance, though I later played the SSI game that they obviously based the gold-box engine on (don't remember the name). I didn't really get into computer RPGs until after that era was dieing (starting with Might and Magic VI), though I did get to see the idea's greatest flowing on consoles with Final Fantasy Tactics.

I'll have to keep an eye on it, though I am not yet excited. I'm not generally into post-apocalyptic stuff, and I'm not much for sandbox games.

I never played the original either, but I am tempted to become a backer as it sounds very interesting.

Well it was the original fgallout game really. Lets not forget the Mr fargo was behind alot of all time classics. Fallout 1 and 2 aswell as the Baldurs gate series. Kickstarter for me has opened up what maybe a new age in gaming.

I know I will be buying this at some point. It does look fantastic.

Man, I am LOVING this turn-based renaissance. Just goes to show you how the AAAs with their RTS and FPS obsessions have been completely blind to a big gaming demand.

Definitely looks like it has potential. I'll be keeping and eye open for this one.
