Burke's Joystick: Because Edmund Burke would have been a gamer!
Yeah many where moaning it will be dumbed down for the console crowd. I don't hold with that belief. My first XCOM game was on the PS1.

XCOM -- Designing a Game for Two Audiences
I am hoping that this game does really well and proves to be a bona fide financial hit because it could dispel that myth that turn-based games are strictly "niche". Being a cross-platform title it could even prove that the console twitch crowd is just as open to a polished TB game as the PC crowd. In other words, XCOM could be a game changer (if you'll pardon the pun).

Is this Xcom on the same order as the original XCOM?
I had that game for DOS years ago did play it alot. Think it was for
The DOS 3.1 OS if I remember Correctly Could have been a DOS shell
for Win 95 to......
this kind of reminds me of the Xcom i used to play only its more like hands on combat like a few MMO's that ive played or like call of duty, lots of big guns in this one though.
Destructible terrain and 3D environments is hard to do.
For a real game programmer its not hard at all.
Games have been a team effort for at least 10 years now.
I have single handedly programmed games 20 years before that.
And Yes my programming cycle was 1 game every 2 years.
By the time I realized that I needed a team effort and a single
programmer doing all the coding and play testing it was too late.
