What exactly is wrong with the infantry combat model?

    It's not 1:1

It doesn't have the animations that some people need for immersion.

It works fairly well for me. It is abstract, uses step losses, doesn't count men or type of arms, doesn't have ranking officers.

Good. It works much better that way.

Thanks for the breakdown of what's wrong. Although I don't see anything wrong with it either...

Are people trying to compare it to CM?

Yes, I would agree. Comparisons are/were inevitable...

Two different concepts for which I have written an equation for:

ASL does not equal Panzer Leader/Panzerblitz

If ASL= CMBN and PCO = Panzer Leader/Panzerblitz, then CMBN does not equal PCO.

    My variables date me...

I think that PCO is more Yaquinto's panzer than PL/PB... http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/4288/panzer
