Dear ASL Fellows,

The main preparation for the next Grenadier is done. The Scenarios have been selected. They are all checked, played, analyzed and finally selected. They all received ABS options. If neccessary, this ABS options try to make little balances. So don't wonder if in a scenario one side receives for ABS1 a 9-2 Leader and the other "only" two Concealment counter :D

I'm pretty sure that we have this year again a very good choice for everyone of you. As you may know, it is my wish that all scenarios presented at Grenadier are on my personal "Want-to-play" list too. I think this worked well again this year. Here is the actual list. If you like to see also the Special rules or the ABS for each scenario, then please visit the Grenadier website at http://www.asl-grenadier.de/.

Round 1
WO3 Counterattack at Carentan
FrF21 Cavalry Brigade Model
CH33 At the Point

Round 2 (Long Round)
J157	Rage against the Machine
AP3	A Breezeless Day
SP174 Krupki Station

Round 3
HP12	Kicked Autz
KE16 Tiger 222
ESG91 It's not Over

Round 4 (Long Round)
J160	Bienen Burnout
ASLUG5 Shootout at Singling
SP39 Down the Manipur Road (PTO)

Round 5
RPT25 Cornwall's Rum Ration
SP125 Nunshigum (PTO)
FT167 Wasp Sting

Michael Koch and myself will this year (again) arrive already on Wednesday. So feel invited to join us if you like. On Thursday there will be again (like last year) a little Team-Tournament. But, as you may know best, a whole free day of playing ASL would also allow you to play something you otherwise would not be able to do. So think about arriving Wednesday and having found in advance an opponent and have already agreed to play something like Red Barricades scenario RB5 "The last bid" :)

I have also found a new Logo for this year Grenadier. Long time attendees know, that this is a tradition starting with the first Grenadier long long ago. Beside the T-Shirts with the Logo, the Coffee Mugs are not only a "Reminder-at-a-good-time". No. They are useful during the four days because you can fill coffee, tea or whatever else you like to drink in them. Meanwhile I have 14 coffee Mugs with different Grenadier Logos at home in my board and they all look well. I hope you also like this years new logo.

You are a newbie here? Don't hesitate and join us (or another tournament). This will learn you rules, improve your play and it will bring you in contact with a superb bunch of guys.

From this moment you can reserve you a place at Grenadier. Just send me an EMail to Christian.Koppmeyer@freenet.de. As you may know, there are only a limited number of "Single-Person" rooms. I have to give them away in order of incoming reservations.

See you at Grenadier!

Roll low.

Hello to all my ASL Comrades. To celebrate Memorial Day and all this
Holiday means I'm putting all our pdf. and Paper Issue Bundles on sale
and here is how it works.

All Dispatches Issues have been converted to pdf. file format with a Huge
effort by my Printing MVP Ralph McDonald. I do have a limited number
of Paper Issues available as well, more on those a little farther down.

The usual cost for a Digital The WORKs Order (All 36 Issues plus a 4 Issue
Subscription starting with current Issue #36) is $60.00. Now through
Memorial Day they will be $50.00. That is 39 Issues in total and over
100 Scenarios! That is less than $.50 cents a scenario, which is a pretty
good deal, whether it is 2013 or 1993.

I do still have a limited number of Paper Issues #34, 35 & 36, a 4 Issue
Subscription including those 2 Back Issues is normally +$20.00, through
Memorial Day it is $16.00

As for the individual pdf. issues, if the Issue you are looking to purchase
has all original content still in it is $3.00, any issue that saw something
re-published by MMP will have that page removed, and an informational page
in its place telling you what MMP publication to find it in, those issues are
just $2.00 Each (#01, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08. 10, 13, 16, 17, 18 & 19).
If wanting just pdf. issues for a subscription, it is only $15.00.

Please e-mail me before ordering individual pdf. issues on what I can do for you price
wise if ordering 5 or more issues.

We have started work on Issue #37 and I'll have a summary of the 4 scenarios going
into it with my next update in June.

We have the usual 4 scenarios for #36 and here they are:

Assyrian Ambush: The 2nd in the Battle for Iraq series by Ted Wilcox sees elements
of the Iraqi Independent Mechanized Brigade running the gauntlet through Bd 57
as British trained and equipped Iraqi levies try to stop them from exiting. All armor
vs all infantry in 1941 for a quick playing tourney action.

The Police Station: Joe Gochinski has another in the Hong Kong battles with action
starting immediately with on board melees at start as the Japanese 38th Division tries
to capture the Police Station, with it's overwatch position from the Winnipeg Grenadiers.
Reinforced company side elements on both sides and a strong Canadian defensive position
with fortifications makes for a taught battle until the end. 6.5 turns makes it just small
enough to fit into a tourney time slot or 5 to 6 hour time frame. Exciting action for sure.

Hunting Gray Wolves: The latest in the NKVD series from our own Tom Morin sees a sweep
by a company of NKVD 6-2-8s supported by mixed armor and air support trying to dig out
Graywolve Partisans in the Ukraine. Board 34 is where the action is and comes down to
much close range fighting and CC. Lots of FUN for both sides as CVPs and Hut Control
are the VCs.

Defending the Twin Villages: The Battle of the Bulge setting of the approaches to
Rocherath-Krinkelt on boards 5 & 32 sees Kampfgruppe Muller of the 12th SS Hitler
Jugend crashing into the valiant GIs of the 2nd Infantry Division. 18 (6-5-8) SS squads
supported by 5 x JgdPz IV/70 Tank Destroyers attack a company of mixed American
squads with a bunch of SWs, a 81* Mtr a 2 x M4A3/76W Sherman 76L tanks. A fairly
large action taking 8.5 turns with the SS trying to break through. Much maneuver and
lots of firepower here.

Kedge has another nice article, looking at the state of ASL in 2013. Carl Nogueira

For those unfamiliar with Dispatches, it is a 12 page Amateur
ASL Newsletter that comes to the greater ASL Community twice
a year, sometime in March and September courtesy of the New
England ASL Community, including the Bunker Crew and our yasl
Brothers in Southern New England. It typically contains 4 New Scenarios,
Analysis of each one, a Main Article on any aspect of the game system,
Tactical Tips, ASL News and Tournament Updates from our region.
