More references to the balance of this scenario. I really find this one interesting. I got my clock cleaned as the Americans, but I was playing a better player and am fairly inexperienced. I really think this scenario is not really that out of balance, but it does require a very high level of play or it will go badly for the Americans.

After playing it, my opponent and I were messing around with the Ami setup. More so than most scenarios, the defence's setup is critical here. My partner and I were able to find a setup that looked pretty playable for the Americans. I don't think even an average player would be able to find a good defence on his first try without generous portions of dumb luck. The terrain is very tricky and if the Ami player leaves an avenue of approach for the Germans to close on the Ami's key pieces, game set match...

Thoughts?

I too lost this one fairly handily as the US. The problem is that there force is so brittle. A couple of luckily rolls and they can't recover. In my game 2 afv, including the TD, were taken out by motion BF shots! Also a lot depends on the Priests getting Heat and taking out the Stugs. I would happily play it again as the US but not in a sceanrio I really wanted to win.

I unfortunatly lost this one big time as the Germans! I think this may be because my opponent only missed one Heat roll the whole game! :(

I got butchered in this one too, also playing the Americans. I set up too far forward, though. It also didn't help that my BAZ Xed on the first roll, that I only got one HEAT shot (total!) before Ammo Depletion, that my Meat Chopper was Recalled due to SAN before even firing a shot, I was playing a better player, and that he rolled 4 snakes and I didn't roll 1. My only consolation was that I managed to get an unbroken squad within range of the road net in time to get my reinforcements early. (They never came on, though, because he satisfied the VC before then.) Sigh.

I am not so sure this scenario is unbalanced, perhaps a little. It is just that the American must be a smart defender and have a good set up, whereas the German player has more room for error. The question may be how do you define balanced. Given two newbies, yes it is pro German, whereas with two grognards it may be even, or at least closer to even. I suspect it is slightly pro German, but nearly as much as some have claimed.
