Sorry to post in the SB forum, but I don't know where else would be appropriate. Maybe we can get a MAP forum?

I got my copy from NWS yesterday (amazingly quick work guys!). I do have a couple of questions.

1) When I clicked a Help button, sometimes it looked for "wom.hlp" and couldn't locate it. I'm assuming all the help file info has been rolled into the PDFs?

2) One of the Optional Rules is "Manual Cyberattacks", but this isn't defined in the User.pdf although it does mention Cyber Warfare. What are Cyberattacks and can I use them?

3) I had this question in WOV 1.01, but I thought maybe it would be clearer in WOM. How do I create a package outside of the apedit? Or maybe I'm missing the point of packages? I thought that packages were something the player could create, but is this incorrect? If so, is there a reason that there are no packages (.pkg files) in the current version?

4) I noticed the following issues in scenario Operation Kadesh:
a) Meteor_FR.9, Mystere_IVA and Meteor_F.8 have wrong silhouettes on map.
b) Egyptian fighters attacking Israeli transports got shot down quickly, even though there were no escorting fighters. I tested this both as an Israeli player and then as Egyptian. I would lose a dozen jets attacking three C-47s. Just doesn't seem right. And these weren't all OTU units either.

If enouch traffic gets generated we can ask for one...will need to see that activity though to justify it.

Not sure why, the files are in PDF format and if you press F1, F2, F3, F4 they all come up. I also switched back to the old interface and used the Help menu and it pulled it up as well. Can you be more specific on how you got this error?

From Mo, the scenario designer:

Manual cyberattacks were a research option requested for Air Force lab use; to the best of my knowledge we do not offer manual cyberattacks in WOM. Unfortunately the documentation mentions their existence.

We do have cyberwarfare capability in WOM, and it only appears in the Syria 2007 scenario; all that's required is to fly the jets (F-15I) near the Syrian IADS to see the cyber effects.

Can you send me a game file illustrating this? We didn't see it during testing, but will be sure to nail it for the first update.

Regarding the appearance of the "wom.hlp" call, it occurred when you are selecting a side to play in a scenario and at that A/I dialog box you press "Help" and that's when the "wom.hlp" error occurs.

Regarding the 4b issue, UPDATE, I have recreated the situation. I've attached a save game and the battle replay. The slaughter of my Egyptian fighters starts at about 2:10 left in the mission.

Are there any multi-day campaigns in the game? I've been poking around to see if there's a good reason to use the ATO editor. I guess I'm still trying to understand what the best way to use the ATO editor for the best gameplay.

Also, I've figured that I'm supposed to use the ATO editor to create a generic order, but each time I do it doesn't save. Would you please list the steps to do this? I was trying to create a BARCAP line for the Egyptians in the Operation Kadesh scenario but it wouldn't take.

Rather than multiple day campaigns, you can use the ATO to break up an all day campaign that had three waves (Moked?)

Interesting, I'll give this a try... Operation Moked, Expansion Variant as Israelis. Yup, I see that damage carries over from one "turn" to the next.

Wow, is AAA really that effective? The Egyptians were going after Hatzor and Tel Nof and I didn't fly any intercepts but they have lost well over a hundred aircraft.

Thanks for the tip, it worked great.

Here's a document you may find useful...its a rough version that still needs to be finalized, but it may help.

Noted, and file sent to Mo for evaluation.

Hmm, isn't this just the same file from the game?

Here's the statement that caused me confusion, it's in the second paragraph of the section "Starting a Campaign" [my italics]:
You will be prompted to enter the number of turns, or iterations, for the newcampaign. This determines how many times you will construct an ATO and have it executed. Each turn represents one day of the campaign. You also select which side you want to play in the campaign. The computer will play the opposing side using A/I (Artificial Intelligence). This is why I didn't think that the apato could be used multiple times for the scenarios, since none of them are multi-day scenarios. I now understand that the "turns" represent "waves" or "pulses". I'll play with that concept when I get more familiar with the game. Right now the only problem I see with the "waves" approach would be if the scenario is built with visibility changing from start to finish. I'd have to rationalize why each wave experiences the same visibility change. However, I don't think this would be too much of a problem for most scenarios.

My bad, I thought he had sent me a custom document, but I failed to review it prior to posting - sorry!

Will note that text to JT so it can be clarified with the first update.

I'd like one, but don't know how many others are interested.

For example, I'd like to get tips on game play. I just got WoME, which, as these things work, has me playing WoV again -- go figure.

Ran the Pierce Arrow scenario, which led me to the following:

1. Would be nice if you could select more than one aircraft at a time. You know, select five flights, give them one attack order, and specify a ToT spread).

2. Would be nice if I could define Generic Orders in a scenario (this one had no generics to start with). I can set up an attack, but if I accidentally click on an aircraft, the order disappears. (I finally went into the scenario editor and modded the scenario by adding generic attack paths -- would have like to do this in the game). Note: maybe the ATO editor is the way to handle this -- not sure.

3. It is a real pain setting up a large attack in a scenario -- I had to get everybody to follow everybody else, then set time-on-target, not much fun. OTOH, maybe I'm doing it wrong.

4. I would really, really, really love damaged/crippled aircraft. This would be a big change.

Whilst I'm rollin' and *****in' ;-)

How 'bout a way to name flights? I wanna fly Banjo, King, Panther and Showtime flights instead of 1/TWS2. More color.

(I want to do this indepentantly of the OOB editor, that is.)

So, when's the next game in the series coming out? ;-)

I've requested one be setup...will get some answers up and more traffic in there once it is.
