The concealment discussion and a play of SP1 caused me to question something. A concealed unit fires/searches. Both are concealment loss activities but the player with the HIP "units" maintains his hidden status. The fire/search are resolved ... much to the chagrine of the HIP player that now places his units onboard w/o concealment after an attack or under ? after a successful search.

Is it too late to demand the firing/searching unit drop concealment?

If a concealed unit fires and reveales a HIP unit, then it would loses its concealment - same as if it fired vs. a concealed unit and that target lost its concealment.

Not sure about when it Searches though.

;) The Concealment GAIN/LOSS Table Note "C" would seem to indicate that the searching unit would lose "?". Note "A" states the HIP unit would lose HIP/? if the search is successful.

Sorry, after re-reading the rule for searching, I see that the HIP unit would retain it's "?" if successfully searched. However, in your instance there doesn't seem to have been a successful search, nor were there other units with a LOS to the searching unit. In this instance, the searching unit would retain it's "?", even if the HIP unit revealed itself at a later time (say later in the DFPh).
The answer then would seem to indicate that -yes it is too late to have the concealed unit drop its' concealment.
