Rich,
When are the 3d graphics for the squad battle games that don't have them now going to be available? When Proud and few was updated you mentioned something about the holiday season. Thanks

Mike

Mike,

They have taken a back seat due to some other personal stuff on the graphics side of the house - that and some work for full games has taken priority. They are bubbling back up towards the top here soon though, so hopefully we'll get a couple more games updated with them soon.

Hi,

Like you l like the fine 3D art, it's a pity the Talonsoft Campaign art could'nt be brought across.

However if you search on the following page for the " New Squad Battles Eagle Strike mod " by z1812 you will see a brillant piece of work, which for 2D replaces the head and shoulders art with small figures.

Now this really enhances the game and it looks like Squad Leader boardgame.
Although this is for Eagle Strike only, l've transfered it to all my Squad Battle games and it works with all except TKW, although l don't have PAF.

Again try it with one game first and back up the Art files just incase it's not your flavour.
l only had ES and AotR which have 3D art until this mod came out then l quickly picked up a few more Squad Battle games.
A final word l think this 2D mod is the way forward short available 3D art.

Still in the works...remember, none of us do this as a full time job.

Rich,

As l own at least 50+HPS games you must be doing something right.

l'm from the UK we tend to lean towards tabletop gaming with figures, hence my love of 3D art, so you had to buy, then research uniforms before painting, read up on rules and spend half the gaming time setting up and arguing over the finer points of the rules.

The USA was more into boardgaming with much the same set of problems if you could find the room to set up and leave the game undisturbed between turns.

The great thing about HPS games is these problems don't exsist, and l have fought pbem most of he massive Panzer Campaign games, you can halt/save the game file for minutes or years !!!, and restart from where you left off.

These games are great value for money just for the maps and OOB's alone.

Just bought Campaign Antietam from Duchet but l mostly use NWS, at the moment l'm playing a Sgt Fury mod for Minsk'44, great game and terrific opponent.

Which is another plus point, the ability to redo/mod the game scenarios and art, and of course the game patches which fix any glitches, now ask the boardgame and figure manufactures about this point.

Keep up the good work and l wish you and all at HPS every success for the future, keep those games coming, so many games and so little time.

Thanks for the support Ian, that's exactly why we do this - as we're wargamers too and enjoy many of the same benefits you mention here. We'll keep updating our existing games and doing new stuff as long as we are able! :)
