Helicopter Elevation

All,
Is there anyway to change helicopter elevation during a scenario? I would've liked my Kiowa to pop up and drop back down while scouting, but couldn't figure out how. Is it possible and how can I do it if it is?

I was under the impression that "defilade" was supposed to have something to do with this but someone else will have to verify.

Yes, defilade allows you to perform pop-up manevuers. However, I still prefer to fly around terrain, peak out and engage.
