The new iPods?
Take a close look at the kit we could be buying from Apple in the near future.
Apple's iPod is ready to enter our lives as never before, according to the company's former design chief. Robert Brunner, who oversaw the design of the Powerbook and now works for leading design firm Pentagram, has created a number of concept designs that combine a wireless version of the ubiquitous MP3 player with a watch, camera and a phone. They all retain something of the unique feel of Apple's design, but with a few, more modern touches. Here are the products we could see in the shops one day.

This watch will have the ability to copy calendar and address book information from your computer via Bluetooth. Music comes through wireless headphones, and the scroll wheel has been junked for a horizontal sliding control.

The long-predicted Apple mobile may seem as unlikely as ever, but Brunner reckons one could be made that combines a phone with an iPod. The design features the iPod scroll wheel and a keypad that slides out.

This version of the iPod gets rid of the dock altogether, as it has built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to connect to a computer and grab songs from iTunes. We like the black - it's worlds away from the chavy white of today.

Combining a digital camera with an iPod may seem a bit mad, but this is what it would look like. The colour display serves as a viewfinder when the case is closed, but when open acts as a movie player.
