View Full Version : Do many US players use the IIFT?

I have heard a lot of gamers use the IIFT table in the USA. Is it used much at the tournaments or considered too "gamey?" What about in Canada?

Does anyone know if MMP playtests new modules using the IIFT?

Woo-hoo! Flamewar! IIFT-users are girly-girls :)

Seriously, I don't think it makes a great deal of difference. I play some games with, some without, and I'm going to start compiling an analysis of the difference it makes (I suspect very little...)

No flame wars just good debate.

I will use either, but given a choice I probably prefer the IIFT. As to it being gamey, it first appeared in the ASL Annual, the "official" magazine of Advanced Squad Leader. It is also now part of the second edition rules and it doesn't get much more official than that. I think both IFT and IIFT are legitimate as they are both part of the ASLRB now.

As to which one is actually better, I'm not sure it makes a big difference in 99% of situations.

That's a good question. I'll have to ask MMP about that, but I bet they are.

Sigh----

NO U.S. tourney uses the optional IIFT table.

The dudes DO NOT use the OPTIONAL table to playtest.

The OPTIONAL table is a desperate attempt of those that wish to have more control, ie less FoW, in the Game.

Blasphemers! :kotz:

Less FOW? How do you mean?
