Planning Air-Ground Missions

Suppose I select a friendly aircraft and place its crosshair on an enemy unit. How can I verify the attack strength & estimated losses? The "Plan the Attack" dialog does not appear in circumstances like this which really sucks.

In general, losses to the air units will be negligible, particularly among high-altitude bombers. Losses to the defender can be roughly estimated by the player with some modicum of experience. However, in general if you are using pure air strikes against ground units, then aim for target hexes that appear to be overstacked as that will maximize the losses to the defender.
