in the 2 highest difficulty levels in SWAT 4, the objectives are way unrealistic?
I mean, in the hijacked hotel level, my element bangs & enters one of the rooms to find a tango in a corner, gun raised and aimed some 45ΒΊ to my right. Of course I shot him, only to be accused of unauthorized use of force. In my book, a guy with his gun up and level is a threat, even if he's not really pointing it at me.
Another situation: after looking under a door and finding a tango with buttstock in the sholder, facing me, I set the C2 charge and blow the door, to stun the guy with the blast. if the guy happen to be incapacitated by the blast... unauthorised use of force penalty.
Now, I know that SWAT is a life saving organization and all that, but I don't think that officers facing men armed with automatic weapons in a ready stance will not shoot, even if they shout a compliance command...
This design decision is really afecting my enjoyment of the game, so I had to rant a bit about it (and avoiding the issue of how the AI manages to turn around, crouch, aim and him me with a split-second shot, while I can't even get close to it -like in the Rainbow Six series, actually... or how this non-lethal enphasis dictates the choice of weapons way too much.)
Any thoughts?
