Could someone clue me in as to exactly how a Supply "unit" works. Such as the three German supply units that exist in DNO 3.5.
-Are they basically Mobile supply points/sources? That would act as a supply base even if surrounded?
-Or just extensions of the supply line, that still need to trace a line of supply to the original supply points/sources back home?
If they act as supply points, I was thinking of perhaps modifying a WestFront (D-day) scenario to allow the Allies to invade at the beach of their choosing as opposed to Normandy. Instead of having to design supply points at each and every possible beachhead, I was thinking of the Allies being able to sealift on turn 1, two huge supply "units" that would act as the Mulberries and thereby be the initial supply sources. (Sea lift would of course be adjusted to accomidate these on turn one, then drop).
