Heathrow attack...Bin Laden tape...real or fake.

Well British troops are guarding Heathrow airport, AFV's and all. The news is stating that a plot to shoot down a jet air liner could be active. That is could be. Also a tape suddenly appears, one which the Americans do not claim to be fake (like they did last time), one which voices support for Iraq - and subsequently making invasion a more readily acceptable prospect for joe public. Pretty Lame stunt if you ask me. Everybody realises that the Iraqi's and al Qaeda have totally different ideologies and this tape is fake. I beleive it to be fake due to the response the US have made, instead of denouncing it as fake - like they did when they claimed they had probably killed Osama, they have embraced it and have underlined the links they believe to exist.

Now onto Heathrow. What a farce. The British public are deweply sceptical of a war without UN backing 11% (without) 72% (with). So first you state that the threat to the UK '..is on a scale compared to that of September the 11th....' Then you showe stories regarding the new Osama tape. How stupid does the British public think we are. ??????

Markoy, not every situation is a conspiracy. The US doesn't control al Jazeera, or whatever, News Agency. They have their own means of independently confirming whether or not the tape is from Al-Qaeda. The tapes are not shown in the US anymore for security reasons. I believe Bin Laden would be stupid enough to try something like that.

The U.S. does not control Al-Jazira.

However, the U.S. may have "antennas" in there, and that could explain why Colin Powell was rapidly informed of the existence of that tape.

I don't think that tape was forged by the U.S. although I am not so sure that was really Ben Laden.

Thanks I will. I actually e-mailed BBC news 24 yeserday with a very similar comment and it was actually read out, which actually underlines the suspicions in the UK.

The german government translated the speech too and came to a slightly different finding, they saw no clues that this speech by BinLaden prooved an Iraq-AlQuaida connection.
Seems the tape can be interpreted many ways and of course both sides do it their way.
